BrighterStart hasn’t launched yet. This policy describes how the first release is designed to behave; we’ll finalize it at launch and update the effective date if anything changes.

BrighterStart does not collect personal data — what you do in the app stays on your device.

What we collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit personal information through BrighterStart. There are no third-party analytics SDKs, no advertising networks, and no tracking. Your activity in the app stays on your device.

This matches the app’s privacy label on the App Store: No Data Collected.

Sleep data (Apple Health)

With your permission, BrighterStart reads sleep data from Apple Health to chart your real wake times alongside your alarms. This data is read on your device, is never transmitted anywhere, and the App Store build never writes to Health.

Camera & motion

The photo wake-up mission uses your camera, and the steps mission counts steps with your iPhone's motion sensors. Both are analyzed entirely on your device — photos are checked in the moment and never uploaded or stored, and step counts never leave your phone.

iCloud sync

Your alarms, routines, and streaks can sync between your devices through your personal iCloud account. That data belongs to you and is handled under Apple's iCloud terms — we run no servers and cannot see it.

Apple App Store & diagnostics

When you download BrighterStart, Apple processes the download under its own privacy policy. If you’ve opted to share diagnostics with developers in iOS Settings, Apple may send us anonymized crash reports. They contain no personal information.

Children

BrighterStart is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. If you have a concern, contact support@frozengrape.app.

Changes to this policy

If the app’s behavior changes, we’ll update this policy and the effective date above. Material changes will be noted in the app’s release notes.
